Former Professional Remediation Project Receives Award

What House Magazine's annual awards, presented by William Haugue, presnted the Bronze Award for regeneration to Bower Mapson Homes for the Buttercross Works scheme in Witney, Oxfordshire.

Professional Remediation Limited were responsible for asbestos removal, demolition and remediation at the site in 2014, prior to the construction in 106 new homes. PRL's works included the remediation of hydrocarbon impacted soils and groundwater, including removal of free product from groundwater. PRL also produced several thousand tonne of high specification recycled aggregate such as certificated Type I, building sand, 6F2 and drainage materials for use in a sustainable urban drainage scheme. The award was presented to Bower Mapson Homes, specifically mentioning the on site treatment of hydrocarbon materials, which mitigated off-site disposal and the generation of certified aggregate for use in an adopted SUDS scheme, negating the requirement for importation of quarried aggregate.
